The shoe-shaped cake is a design that Jennie created in collaboration with a brand, incorporating her unique style. Hyori posted the gift as a way to express her gratitude.
The two’s connection began earlier this year when Jennie appeared on KBS 2TV’s The Seasons – Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet.
In this episode, Lee Hyo-ri said, “I’m nervous to introduce her. I think many people want to invite her the most in the world, and I think she is the main character of this era. Many people were looking forward to meeting her, and I also wanted to meet her and see her lovely smile in person,” while introducing Jennie.
Jennie chose “You & Me,” her special single released in October last year, to perform on the show. “You & Me” is a solo song that Jennie prepared as a gift especially for her fans who have shown great love for BLACKPINK’s world tour over the past year.
After finishing her performance, Jennie presented a large bouquet of roses and her own handwritten letter to Lee Hyo-ri, who then read it on stage. She read, “Hello. Congratulations on the first episode of “The Seasons.” Thank you for inviting me. I’m couldn’t be happier to meet and know you, my eternal idol. I wish you a happy new year. Please feel free to contact me. I really like you a lot.”
However, Lee Hyo-ri laughed, saying, “She only said but didn’t give me her contact information.”
“When I first got an invitation call, I was nervous because it’s been a while since I was on a TV show,” Jennie shared. “I came to see Hyo-ri. Thank you for inviting me,” showing her infinite affection for her senior.
